Dr WK Chan and Dr R Yeoh of ERS attended the 2013 American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons in San Francisco from 19-23 April 2013. This is the largest cataract and refractive surgery meeting in the world. Dr Yeoh sits on the Program Committee and the Challenging & Complicated Cataract Sub-Committee of this meeting.

This year, Dr Yeoh was honoured to be invited as the International Guest Judge with 7 other all-American judges of the ASCRS Film Festival, where more than 180 educational movies were submitted for competition. The judges spent 11/2 days reviewing and debating these movies before awarding prizes in ten categories in the glittering ceremony seen below:

In 2013, Dr Yeoh was elected to the International Intraocular Implant Club, a by invitation only exclusive club of less than 200 leading cataract surgeons from the world over and in San Francisco he was formally admitted to the club at a ceremony attended by many of the above.

Apart from the above, Dr Yeoh also taught on basic phacoemulsification technique and managing dislocated lens implants in two instructional courses and was a panellist in several other sessions.
